On May 5, 2023, the Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University (FH Undip) hosted a Halal Bihalal event, marking a joyous occasion for the academic community. The event commenced with the recitation of Qalam Ilahi, featuring Qari Muhammad Fahri Nur Utomo and Saritilawah performed by Aryani Puspita Sari.
Professor Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum., the Dean of the Faculty of Law, delivered an opening address, setting the tone for the gathering. Following her remarks, Professor Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of Diponegoro University, extended his welcome and shared insightful thoughts. “There is a proverb that says, ‘It is better to have a bamboo fence than a stone wall,’ meaning that sharing and caring within a community is considered a better security system than raising or enlarging walls. The more we share, the more blessings we receive,” expressed Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., during his speech.
The subsequent program featured a Tausiah (spiritual discourse) by Ustadz Fathhurohman, where he elaborated on the significance of Halal Bihalal, emphasizing that ‘halal’ is synonymous with acceptance, approval, and safety. He stressed the importance of seeking blessings and paradise in our actions, portraying Earth as a trust that we must nurture.
The event concluded with the conveyance of heartfelt Eid al-Fitr greetings, fostering a sense of unity and warmth among the FH Undip extended family. The Halal Bihalal served not only as a cultural tradition but also as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and shared blessings within the academic community.
